BIO FOR
Fluorine free wetting and foaming agent effective on solid fires
EFFECTIVENESS ON FIRES
100% of the BIO FOR formula is easily biodegradable.
It is the ecological solution to putting out solid fires (class A) thanks to its wetting and foaming properties. BIO FOR line additives provide optimum effectiveness when putting out solid fires: forest fires, urban fires, industrial fires, etc.
- Wetting properties: Thanks to its affinity for solids, BIO FOR wetting and foaming agent penetrates embers deeply and puts them out. This specificity increases the extinguishing properties of the BIO FOR additive and prevents the fire from restarting.
- Foaming properties: BIO FOR can be applied as a protective fire barrier. Indeed, the adhesive nature of this fire-fighting foam makes it possible for it to adhere to vertical surfaces for an extended period.
The application of a wide strip of BIO FOR during a forest fire for example, makes the vegetation fire proof and stops the progression of the fire.
BIO FOR additives are also effective on hydrocarbon fires such as burning vehicles…
ENVIRONMENT
BIO FOR foam is the ecological solution to solid fires (Class A), because it contains no fluorine derivatives or PBTs(Persistent Bioaccumulative Toxins).
It is easy to dispose of BIO FOR because it is biodegradable.
BIO FOR is also compliant with the European ground water directive: it contains no halogen derivatives.
Over 90% of fire service interventions are for this type of fire. Fire brigades therefore have a direct interest in its ecological and biodegradable properties.

BIO T
FLUORINE FREE biodegradable training foam concentrate for use on hydrocarbon fires
USE
The BIOex research and development team has designed a true ecological and economical alternative for quality training.
BIO T training foam concentrates generate a light foam allowing the fast re-ignition of the fuel layer used for training purposes.
This has the advantage of giving fire fighting teams the opportunity of training using a single training system. The rotation of teams training on this system also makes it possible for trainees to see how to apply additives and then handle them, thus giving a certain objectivity to handling fire-fighting foam concentrates in live conditions.
The extinguishing properties of the BIO T foam base have been deliberately reduced. Thus teams can train to improve their fire extinguishing techniques by perfecting how they apply them.
Once the training session is over, the BIO T foam is easy to clean due to its rapid settling.
ENVIRONMENT
BIO T line products are totally free of fluorine derivatives.
They are easy to eliminate because these foam concentrates are biodegradable. They deteriorate quickly without any PBT residues (Persistent Bioaccumulative Toxin).
Depending on the capacity of your sewage treatment station and your waste contract, BIO T training foam concentrates can be eliminated without using incineration..

D FOAM
Silicone free anti-foaming agent to abate firefighting foam that has been applied
EFFECTIVENESS
D-FOAM has been especially designed as an anti-foaming agent to abate fire-fighting foams. After Low, Medium or High expansion tests, or after a training exercise, or after the accidental triggering of a fire extinguisher system, D-FOAM is perfectly suited to the abatement of fire-fighting foams. Thanks to this agent, the area invaded by foam can be cleaned quickly and returned to its previous state.
D-FOAM has a durable effect, even when the environment is subjected to powerful mechanical forces. Thus the foaming power is eliminated and the solution with a concentration of surfactants stops generating foam. This property is especially necessary in the event of accidental spillages; excess foam can overflow and disrupt the operation of sewage treatment stations.
ENVIRONMENT
D-FOAM is a silicone free product, it is chemically inert and does not alter the treated liquid. It is perfectly suited to the operation of a sewage treatment plant.
PERFORMANCES
Uses:
- Applicable on existing foam
- Applicable directly into the foaming solution to prevent discharges from foaming
- Can be used with a high pressure appliance, hoses in the spraying position, PROPAK…

ECOPOL
Multi-risk, fluorine free ecological foam concentrate effective on all types of fire – High Expansion foam
EFFECTIVENESS ON FIRES
ECOPOL is the first fluorine free fire fighting foam concentrate in the world!
This ecological foam concentrate formulated using a 100% natural surfactant base can be used to put out all types of class A and B fires. Designed in 2002 thanks to major research and development work, its multi-application versatility does not prevent the high effectiveness of its extinguishing capability.
ECOPOL, a versatile, synthetic AR foam concentrate completely fluorine derivative free, effectively replaces the use of AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) foam concentrates which are harmful to the environment by combining THE RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT WITH HIGH PERFORMANCES ON ALL TYPES OF CLASS A AND B FIRES.
ECOPOL has diverse extinguishing properties which make it a reference on the market because of its Alcohol Resistant specificity and its foaming and wetting properties.
Effective on hydrocarbon and polar solvent fires!
The versatile AR (Alcohol Resistant) property consists in generating a protective gel film at the surface of all types of inflammable polar liquids.
The effectiveness of ECOPOL on a hydrocarbonfirecan be compared to an AFFF foam concentrate (Aqueous Film Forming Foam): the application of the fire fighting foam must be gentle, i.e. applied indirectly to the burning product using a vertical adjacent surface to let it run onto the surface of the burning product. This type of application corresponds to most live fire fighting interventions. An application using Medium expansion is also possible to spread the foam evenly and without contamination.
This fluorine free film, specific to the ECOPOL foam concentrate, also provides an exceptional resistance to re-ignition.
Applicable on toxic vapour!
The mechanically insulating property of the foam generated using ECOPOL is especially effective, and can also be used to contain the toxic vapours of certain solvents that react to water.
High foaming capability!
The adhesive nature of the foam generated makes it possible for it to adhere to vertical surfaces for an extended period. ECOPOL can be applied as a protective fire barrier. This adhesive fire-fighting foam can be used to durably cool vertical structures, such as plane fuselages. The application of a wide strip of ECOPOL during a forest fire for example, makes the vegetation fire proof and stops the progression of the fire.
ECOPOL also generates an exceptional High expansion foam. It is therefore recommended to drown large volumes, such as hangars, warehouses, ship’s holds, car parks, etc.
Effective on class A fires!
Its affinity for solid supports, combined with its high wetting capability gives ECOPOL high extinguishing performances on all class A fires.
ENVIRONMENT
The ECOPOL foam concentrate is formulated using a natural and renewable resource: copra fatty acids (coconut) 100% NATURAL origin.
Depending on the capacity of your sewage treatment station and your waste contract, ECOPOL foam can be eliminated without using incineration.
ECOPOL is classified easily biodegradable. It deteriorates quickly without any PBT residues (Persistent Bioaccumulative Toxins).
ECOPOL is also compliant with the European ground water directive: it contains no halogen derivatives.
The ECOPOL ecological foam concentrate is the alternative to combine the respect of the environment with high extinguishing properties on all types of fire.
In 2002, convinced of the harmfulness of all fluorine derivatives, BIOex was already committed to protect our environment and launched ECOPOL, THE first fluorine free foam concentrate!
It has been tested and approved by our customers all over the world.
ECOPOL, a versatile AR foam concentrate, has the advantage of being totally fluorine derivative free. Opposed to AFFF foam concentrates that contain fluorine compound surfactants (PFT) and perfluorinated compounds (PFC) that cause significant contamination of the natural environment on a global scale, creating the current preoccupying levels of concentration.
In fact, fluorine compounds have been recognised by several specialists to be potentially Persistent in the environment, Bioaccumulative and Toxic for living organisms.
The use of the ECOPOL ecological foam concentrate is the alternative to combine the respect of the environment with high extinguishing properties on all types of fire.

FLUOFOAM
Fluorosynthetic AFFF foam concentrate effective on hydrocarbon fires
EFFECTIVENESS ON FIRES
The additives in the FLUOFOAM line are specially designed to control hydrocarbon fires.
The so-called film generating property AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam)gives the FLUOFOAM fire-fighting foam concentrates an excellent fire extinguishing speed on hydrocarbon fires. The action of the film applied to a burning liquid that is water-immiscible blocks access to oxygen, like a fire blanket, to end up smothering and putting out the fire.
The foam concentrate is applied directly, i.e. directly on the surface of the burning product using a hose or a monitor in the “solid jet” position. This setting makes it possible for the fire fighting team to fight the fire from a long distance and thus avoid exposure to unbearable heat sources.
ENVIRONMENT
The raw materials selected by BIOex in the design and development have a minimum impact on the environment.

NEUTRAL PLUS
Toxic vapour supressing agent
EFFECTIVENESS
NEUTRAL PLUS is specially designed to suppress toxic vapours.
Toxic vapours are characterised by the release into the atmosphere of gaseous substances. They can be of varying origins:
- Pressurised gas: phosgene, ethylene oxide, vinyl chloride, ammonia or even chlorine, etc.
- Decomposition by contact with water: TiCl4, POCl3, SOCl2…
- Thermal reaction: silanes …
- Concentrated solutions: hydrochloric acid, ammonia…
These solvents have a high destructive capability of fire-fighting foams.
In some cases, the application of conventional foams is strongly discouraged as the reaction can be violent.
Specially formulated, the foam produced using NEUTRAL PLUS makes it possible to create a sealed barrier to control the release of toxic gas. It must be continually renewed until the product has been collected.
Especially useful in unloading zones, NEUTRAL PLUS for example makes it possible to control a leak while waiting for the emergency services to get organised and for the substance to be pumped.
NEUTRAL PLUS is effective on (non exhaustive list):
Acids:
- Acetic
- Alkyl sulfonates
- Hydrobromic
- Hydrochloric
- Hydrofluoric
- Nitric
- Phosphoric
- Sulphuric
Alkalis:
- Alkylamines
- Ammonia (gas)

POLYFILM
FFFP fluorosynthetic AR versatile foam concentrate effective on hydrocarbon and polar solvent fires
EFFECTIVENESS ON FIRES
The POLYFILM foam concentrates have specificities that make it possible to effectively put out hydrocarbon and polar solvent fires:
- The so-called film generating property FFFP (Film Forming FluoroProtein)gives the POLYFILM foaming agent an excellent extinguishing speed on hydrocarbon fires using direct application, i.e. when directly applied to the surface of the burning liquid. A fire hose or monitor set to the “solid jet “position can be used for this application and will make it possible for the fire fighting team to fight the fire from a correct distance avoiding their exposure to intense heat.
- The versatile AR (Alcohol Resistant) property consist in forming a protective coating film on the surface of all types of inflammable liquids (polar solvents) in order to smother the fire by depriving it of oxygen (the fire blanket principle).
This film also provides excellent resistance to re-ignition.
ENVIRONMENT
The raw materials selected by BIOex in the design and development of the fire fighting product have a minimum impact on the environment.
